Bill McCarthy has been a professional writer for more than 20 years in the newspaper and magazine businesses. He is also a teacher and historian with a particular interest in the history and culture of the Rocky Mountain region.

McCarthy is the former editor of Boardwatch Magazine, at one time the leading trade journal for the Internet service provider industry, data-based telecommunications companies and other Internet savvy entrepreneurs and of Boardwatch Magazine’s Directory of Internet Service Providers, a consumer and business guide to Internet access. These periodicals and Boardwatch’s biannual Internet service provider conventions, known as ISPCON, were highly regarded by top professionals and decision-makers in the Internet access industry. McCarthy also served as the conference chairman of ISPCON, overseeing all curriculum, including speakers, panels and presentations at ISPCON.

He is also the former editor-in-chief of CLEC Magazine and supervised the editorial content of the ISPworld Web site.

McCarthy is particularly knowledgeable in Internet technologies and database development, and offers that expertise to 3chords Media’s customers, as well as his creative writing skills.

McCarthy has been the editor of a number of small community newspapers in Colorado, Wyoming and Texas, as well as a daily newspaper reporter whose beats included police and courts, city and county government, and education.
